Drugs Amnesty Bins

Drugs amnesty bins are designed to allow the public to dispose of unwanted or unused drugs (whether prescribed or illegal), ensuring that they are out of harm's way for good.

In Northern Ireland, the RAPID project is administered by Police & Community Partnership groups, with bins being strategically located in places designed to offer anonymity to the person making the deposit. Police routinely empty the bins, and record information on the drugs deposited. Around 100 Rapid Bins are now installed throughout Northern Ireland.

Our Drugs bins are robustly constructed from heavy gauge steel, and will resist a determined physical attack. The tilting trap mechanism has excellent ‘anti-fishing’ properties, to ensure deposited items will remain in situ.

There are currently 3 versions available:-
RDB1 Compact model for indoor use
RDB2 Large model for indoor use
RDB3 Large model for outdoor use

Models RDB2 and RDB3 are supplied with an inner plastic collection bin which allows for quicker and safer removal of contents, especially if any 'sharps' have been deposited. A Clip-on lid allows the full plastic bin to be completely removed, and an empty bin put in it's place.
